TEXAS DEMOCRATIC VETERANS (TDV) CAUCUS ENDORSES JOHN LIRA FOR U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TX23

Another High Profile Endorsement for the TX23  Democratic Nominee

Georgetown, TX –  The Texas Democratic Veterans (TDV) Caucus have endorsed Marine veteran Democratic Nominee John Lira in his campaign to represent Texas’s 23rd Congressional District.

“Texas Democrats believe that Service Members and Veterans should be honored for their service and deserve the benefits they have earned and been promised, regardless of their race, ethnicity, geographic location, income, disability status, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, or immigration status. Texas Democrats also believe that Veterans experiencing homelessness or who commit suicide are a national tragedy. We believe that too few Americans understand how the impact of military service, especially experiencing combat and repeated deployments, affects a Veteran’s life.”  With that said, TDV is happy to support John Lira for Congress in Texas-23. His service in the military has showcased his leadership and commitment to public service. We believe John has the vision and experience to represent the voices and values of people in Texas-23,” stated TDV.

“I am very proud and honored to be endorsed by the Texas Democratic Veterans Caucus,” said John Lira. “As a Marine veteran and the son of a Mexican-American family growing up in San Antonio, I learned the value of hard work and the importance of serving our community. I’ll honor those values every day on the campaign trail, and with the help of TDV and other Texas Democrats, I have the confidence to keep going and know that I will be the next Congressman from TX-23.

In addition to the Texas Democratic Veterans Caucus, John has also been endorsed by Texas State Senators Roland Guiterrez (D-19th Tex. Sen. District), Cesar Blanco (D-29th TX Sen. District). Together Senators Blanco’s and Gutierrez’s senate districts overlap with TX-23.  John has also been endorsed by Texas State Representatives Joe Moody (TX-78), Vicki Goodwin (TX-47), Eddie Rodriguez (TX-51), Richard Pena-Raymond (TX-42), Phil Cortez (TX-117), Mary Gonzalez (TX-75), Lina Ortega (TX-77) and Art Fierro (TX-79).

Endorsements from past Texas State Representatives and Senators include Rep. Chente Quintanilla (TX-75) and Senator Sen. Jose Rodriguez (TX-29).  Also endorsing John is  El Paso County Commissioner Ileana Holguin (Pct. 3).  Other Texas Endorsements include El Paso Young Democrats, Bexar Democrats, Tejano Democrats El Paso County, La Frontera Tejano Democrats,  Paso del Norte Tejano Democrats, Bexar County SD19 Tejano Democrats and
